One More Trip

Hello again everyone! I had one last trip and was handed from Amy to Kristin before heading to the Delzell Office. I had a nice and relaxing time with Kristin. It was really cold outside so we snuggled up on the couch and watched a lot of television and ate a lot of junk food!! Kristin's roommates were very inviting and we all did a little bit of Facebook creeping together and I got to creep on my fellow friends from Madagascar. It was a great way to end my travels with everybody and I will miss everyone! Thanks everyone for their hospitality!

Hi Everyone,

     I was handed form Kyle to Angie. Then I spent Saturday November 19 with Angie. We started out the morning with a good healthy breakfast of eggs and toast. Then we went upstairs to get ready to go to work at Walmart. I was a little scared because Angie had told me that she lived with a bunch of people but I had no idea until she gave me a tour of her house on our way up stairs. She lives with 53 people. WOW, is all I could say. Up to the third floor we went to Angie's room with her seven other roommates. As she got ready for work, I was fortunate enough to get to hang out with her roommates and they talked to me all about how their weekends were going and what they were going to wear to formal that night. All that was going through my mind was "Wait we are going to a formal tonight." I was so excited now and couldn't wait for Angie to be done with work so we could go dance all night. Angie was ready for work so we headed out the door to Walmart.

   It seemed as though just a normal day of checking groceries, one after another. If I were Angie I would have been so bored, however on her lunch break she went into the salon and had her hair curled and pulled back for the formal that night. She told me she was not going to have time to get ready after work before the bus left at 8. Angie practically ran to the time clock when it was her time to go and grabbed me for another adventure. We drove to a hotel where her friends were saying she changed clothes while I attempted to drink a glass of wine. Then she joined me in drinking it.
   After our glass of wine we went on our way to the bus. The bus dropped us off at Pro's Bar and Grill and we danced the night away. First song of the night was so much fun because everyone was on the dance floor, but wait I better clarify and say all the dances were awesome because people where showing so many moves I could not even try to imitate with my cloth legs.
   I sure can't wait to have another adventure with Angie very very soon!

Thanksgiving!

Hey Everyone

I got to spend the last week with Amy. I started the week off by getting handed off from Angie to Amy in class. Monday we had lots of class and then work @ Wal-mart. Amy works hard, but it was fun to see all the crazy people. Wednesday we headed off to Watertown, SD (which is Amy's home town) and I got to meet her parents and siblings and she even has cats and a dog! It was a blast playing with everyone! And the food was amazing!! Her mom is the best cook! I ate so much I think I gained about 5 pounds of stuffing! Amy had to leave thanksgiving night because she had to work over night for something she called "Black Friday." She left me at home to play with her brother and sister. We had lots of fun playing outside. Amy came back Friday night and we played darts ate more food on saturday! I even got sugar cookies and pie! It was so good. Sunday we watched football (Vikings lost AGAIN! :-[ ) and then took the long drive back to Vermillion for our last night together.

Thanksgiving at Amy's was a blast! I can't wait to hang out with my next friend!

Thursday!

I spent Thursday with Britta. First Kyle Beach gave me a ride to Britta's car and he even made me buckle up! 

Britta drove me to Yankton and we had to go to work. At Just for Kids, the afternoon started off fun. A nice girl read me Fancy Nancy! I love Fancy Nancy.

Since there was no school on Friday, we got to have a movie day on Thursday! I watched Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules! It was a great movie and I even got a good seat!

I had a blast and it was all fun and games until...

a brother and a sister started running around and chasing me, and...

I GOT COVERED IN APPLE SAUCE!!!

I was sticky and smelly and uncomfortable, but Britta cleaned me off and I felt all better!

Overall, I had a fun time playing with all of the kids,watching a movie, and hanging out with Britta! Now I get to go meet some girl named Ashley.

What A Busy Day!

Hey guys, Ashley Honke just ditched me and left me with some kid named Kyle Beach. I didn’t know what to think about him when I first saw him. To tell you the truth, I was a little apprehensive. I attend his two classes that he had for the day and drove all the way back with him to LeMars, Iowa where he lives. That night I wanted to go out and hang with some of his friends, but Kyle was being lame and had to work on his Grammar-Mentor Text project.  I am sure glad I don’t have homework because that project did not look fun. I watched television while he worked so hard through the wee hours of the night. I fell asleep and the next thing I know, Kyle was waking me up. He had to go back to Vermillion because he had classes that day too! So, we got in his sweet Honda Accord and drove off into the sunrise. I attended one more class with him until he ditched me to!

Takin' It Easy!

Oh what a fun day! On Wednesday, I woke up quite early to attend Emily's Music Methods class. Not only did her professor let me play the recorder, but I did better than Emily! After this, I had a nice little break until noon, when I had to go to Spanish, and let me tell you, this was nothing like music class. The class was very structured and it was taught all in Spanish! This time, Emily participated and I just listened. For the final class of the day, we went to Children's Literature. This was by far my favorite class! It was much like my class at home where all we do is listen to the teacher read us books. To end the adventure with Emily, we went to Austin Elementary School, where she works in Mrs. Kruse's first grade class helping students read and correcting papers. I enjoyed meeting the students and I hope to go there with Emily again soon! I just can't wait for another day like today:)

Hobo Days!

Hobo Days!

Last Saturday I got to go to SDSU's Hobo Days with Tanya. I thought it would be best to start the day out undercover.  I didn't want anyone seeing a Coyote (I'm still a Zebra) on Jackrabbits territory. I got to play the piano for a bit before heading out to the game. People kind of looked at me weird.

Then we headed to the game and we got to sit in the front row. College football players look way smaller compared to the ones in the NFL. 

After the game we ate some pizza and got really thirsty. The people up there sure know how to have fun! 

Oh what a day. . .with Shari!

On Tuesday, I spent the day with Shari! The first thing we got to do is go to her PE Methods class where we did the Macarena and the Cupid Shuffle and a bunch of other fun dances! Then we went to the library together; boy I'm glad that I don't have homework like Shari and her classmates do. Then, this is the coolest part, we went to President Abbott's house (see the picture!). Shari and her friend Jess helped serve a dinner party there. Boy are those Abbotts nice! Anyway, we just chilled the rest of the night like some cool cats and then hit the hay. It was a good day!

My Day with Leah

Today I spent the day with Leah.  We had a busy day!  I listened and watched her work this morning, then attended 2 classes with her and even went to help her tutor a student in reading.  The girl she tutored was really nice to me, I think we are the same age!  After class we went to this store called Wal-Mart.  I have never been in such a big place!  There were so many people there, but I think Leah got some great deals.  Tonight I am helping Leah with her homework and we are watching Dancing With the Stars together.  I think it would be fun to go on that show, I bet my 4 feet could move across that dance floor pretty smooth.   :)

Thursday, November 3

Hi guys! Today I had the best day ever with Justine! First she took me to her Reading Methods class where she had a test. It was kind of boring watching her pencil move back and forth...

Then for lunch, she took me into the MUC so I could meet her roommates! They didn't talk to me very much because they were all studying. (I think a couple of them are accounting majors. Yuck!) They were nice though. :) Justine bought a sub sandwich and even let me have a bite of it!

After lunch she took me home to her apartment and we read a novel together for the rest of the afternoon. It was pretty good!

I also got to experience my first Zumba class. Those girls and guys sure know how to dance! Now that Justine's homework is done, it's time for bed. Until next time! :)

Hi everyone,

Marty here :)  I spent part of today with Suzanne.  She took me to Chaes with Justine and Molly.  It was really good.  Then we had to go back to campus because Suzanne had class.  I had a great time with Suzanne and I wish I could have spent a little more time with her.  I did get to use Molly's phone though while they were in the middle of class.  I called my buddies from Madagascar to tell them how much fun I am having on my journey!!  Well I have to go for now, but I will let you know next time how my time with Molly was.  Until then, have a great day :)

October 30

Hi everybody! I spent my day with Alysse doing a lot of fun things. First she took me with her to tutor her elementary friend in reading. That was a a good time because her tutee really liked me and read me a story. After that we took a road to Sioux Falls so Alysse could pick up her wedding dress. I really wish I could go to Alysse's wedding. After picking up her dress we went out to eat at Chili's for her uncles birthday. I had some free birthday cake and it was delicious! We went back to Alysse's parents house and drank hot chocolate and watched scary movies the rest of the night.

November 2nd

Hi everyone! I had such a good day with Molly today. She took me to school. I learned so much about teaching; it was fun! I even got to go out for lunch at Chaes. Ohhh baby, it was delicious! After school, Molly took me to her house. She studied all night for a big test she has today. But, she let me watch T.V. while she studied. Thank Heavens!

Opps...I forgot a day!

Hey Everyone!
   I forgot to tell you about my crazy day with Megan! First I started out in the Student Services office hanging out with Kathy, she's crazy. That's when Megan picked me up and took me to class I learned about Educational Psychology (I feel bad for those students...at least I got to take a nap!). Then she took me to practice my Español with Señora Piper, now I'm a bilingual Marty, ¡Olé!
After that we went and learned about Special Education. Then we FINALLY got to have some fun. I got to meet her best friend Shiloh Day and have Subway (EAT FRESH!)

and watch my new favorite movie, "The Lion King" such a heart-warming story...I just love Timon and Pumba!

Then we went and played recorders in K-8 Music Methods, very soothing! Then I got to go on a road trip to the Metropolis of Wakonda, SD. Did you know that they have 350 people there?  That town is HUGE! That is when I got to meet Mamma Book, she's hilarious. She took us out for supper and on a shopping trip, fun! :) Then Megan and I went back to Vermillion, just in time for bed.

Today Staci and I started out with a carefree morning. Her morning classes were cancelled, so we sat on the couch and watched Friday Night Lights. Have you all heard of Netflix? It's this great thing that lets you watch movies and tv shows at home through your Wii! I'm getting it for sure! Around 2:00 we went to her Literary Assessement class. We discussed different activities to do with her tutoring student! I had a blast. Hanging out with him later during their tutoring time. By the end of the day I was handed off to the next person. Boy this sure is fun going place to place!
